The Pop Diva confirmed on her website that she will headline the Super Bowl's halftime show in New Orleans. She even posted a picture with "Feb. 3" and "2013" written on her cheeks and named the show 'Countdown to touchdown'.

Attracting nearly 167million viewers in 2012, the Super bowl is one of the biggest shows in US sport. The event will take place on February 13th, 2013.

There has been rumors that the singer will perform with her former Destiny’s Child co-stars, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. Split in 2006, the band recently released their greatest hits collection ‘Playlist’.

Last year Madonna performed at the superbowl in 2012 during halftime with the likes of Cee Lo Green, Nicki Minaj, LMFAO and M.I.A.
